El santuario fenicio de La Algaida (Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Cádiz)

Abstract

Planteamos un estudio de las estructuras y materiales hallados en el santuario fenicio de La Algaida en Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), antaño situado en una isla en la desembocadura del río Guadalquivir en lo que fue el Lago Ligustino. Proponemos que los dos sectores conocidos formarían parte de un mismo conjunto sacro, por lo que habría perdurado hasta la época alto imperial corroborando así lo expuesto por Estrabón.

We carry out the study of the structures and materials found in the Phoenician sanctuary of La Algaida in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), once located on an island at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River in the ancient Lacus Ligustinus. We propose that the two known sectors would be part of the same sacred complex, which therefore would have existed until the Roman Imperial period, thus corroborating what was described by Strabo.
