Este artículo forma parte de una
investigación en curso, sobre la historia
del monasterio del Señor San Juan Bautista
de Morañina, de la Tercera Orden Regular
de Penitencia de San Francisco. Tiene
como objetivo probar la relación existente
entre la villa de Almonte y el citado
monasterio a lo largo de toda su historia,
aunque la mayor parte de los documentos
aportados pertenecen al s. XVII, por los
acontecimientos decisivos que entonces
tuvieron lugar
