Abstract
The careful stratigraphic observations and sound paleontology of Dr. José Royo y Gómez about the Barremian of Colombia enabled him to stress the mediterranean affinities of that paleofauna. He was the pioner examiner of the effects of the Quaternary sea-level fluctuactions on the Caribbean coast of Colombia
