The rocks designated as fulgurites are the result of the action of atmospheric electrical discharges on soils or rocks. This work describes from the macroscopic point of view the Torre de Moncorvo fulgurite, as a first approach to understand the processes that originate these peculiar anecdotal rocks in the field of Petrology. The fulgurite of Torre de Moncorvo is especially interesting due to the magnitude of the formation event inferred by its size. The fulgurite is mainly composed by glassy phases, and unmelted mineral and fragments of host rocks as minor componentsen_US
