Identificación de la interacción aguas subterráneas-superficiales en la cuenca alta del río Andarax mediante el uso conjunto de parámetros químicos y la relación isotópica 234U / 238U

Abstract

Poder identificar la interacción agua subterránea-superficial esfundamental para comprender la dinámica de los ríos en ambientessemiáridos donde el caudal del río es discontinuo. A partir del análisis deuna serie de parámetros químicos y la relación isotópica 234U/238U se haestu diado la influencia de las aguas subterráneas sobre superficialesidentificando los diferentes términos de la mezcla. Los resultados indican laposibilidad de utilizar conjuntamente los datos físico-químicos e isotópicoscomo trazadores de la interacción agua subterránea-superficial en áreas conpresencia de acuíferos carbonatados y detríticos

Identifying the groundwater-surface water interaction is fundamental tounderstand the dynamics of rivers in arid and semi-arid environments where riverflow is discontinuous. At the head of the Andarax river, the waters are bicarbona-ted and have low salinity. The influence of groundwater in surface waters has beenstudied through the joint use of chemical parameters and the 234U/238U isotopicratio, which has allowed the identification of water types to study the mixing ofwaters. The results suggest the potential to use physico-chemical and isotopic datatogether as tracers of groundwater-surface interaction in semi-arid areas with thepresence of carbonated and detritic aquifers
