Abstract
The type section (holoestratotype) of the Median Subbetic (Campillo de Arenas, Betic Cordillera) has been studied for the Latest Aalenian-Early Bajocian interval. The obtained data allow a revision of the ammonite biostratigraphy. Early Bajocian standard ammonite-zones Discites, Laeviuscuia and Sauzei have been recognised and characterised
