Datos preliminares sobre la geología de la isla Elobey Grande (Guinea Ecuatorial)

Abstract

The stratigraphic section of the island Elobey Grande in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea is briefly described. All the samples analized present tipical characteristics of the post-rift of the Equatorial Atlantic continental pasive margin with the same source area and abundant contribution of volcanic materials. The materials were deposited in coastal areas in a distensive regime, as it can be infered from some precisely filled joints, although it should be situated in the interval between the Albian and the lower Senonian
