La prohibición religiosa dacia del consumo de vino : perspectivas sobre su supuesta superioridad moral en la historiografía rumana

Abstract

A partir de los escasos testimonios literarios antiguos sobre la religión de los dacios se elaboró posteriormente una imagen idealizada de éstos, en particular por causa de las características de una pretendida reforma religiosa desarrollada en el siglo I a.C. que habría incluido la prohibición del consumo de vino. Comenzando con el análisis de esos testimonios, plantearemos las perspectivas resultantes defendidas por la historiografía rumana de corte dacianista e intentaremos contrastar los datos ofrecidos por las fuentes literarias con la evidencia arqueológica más reciente.

Begining with the scarce ancient literary evidence about the Dacian religion, an idealized image of this people was subsequently developed, mainly because of the characteristics of a supposed religious reform developed in the first century BC, which would have included the prohibition on wine consumption. Analyzing that evidence, we shall raise the resulting perspectives defended by Romanian historiography of Dacianist type. Then we will try to compare the data offered by the lite-rary sources with the latest archaeological evidence.
