Reflexiones y primeros resultados de MOOCs en Iberoamerica: UNEDCOMA y UNX

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza las principales características y algunos resultados preliminares de dos iniciativas MOOC recientemente implementadas y orientadas al ámbito iberoamericano: UNEDCOMA y UNX. Estos proyectos se incardinan dentro del contexto actual de búsqueda de nuevos modelos de enseñanza y aprendizaje, facilitados por las enormes posibilidades que brindan las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones, y que conectan con las necesidades de formación actuales y futuras de nuestra sociedad. Los MOOC facilitan un tipo de aprendizaje participativo, colaborativo, permanente y de contenidos adaptados a las competencias demandadas en el s. XXI, pero ello exige cambios sustanciales en todos las piezas que configuran el ecosistema educativo, desde la relación profesor-alumno, los soportes en lo que se produce el aprendizaje, la evaluación o las fórmulas de acreditar ese aprendizaje. Todas estas cuestiones han sido abordadas en cada una de las iniciativas tratadas en este trabajo, pese a que todavía subsisten parcelas insuficientemente exploradas. En algún caso estos proyectos se postulan como casos de referencia por haber ingeniado soluciones novedosas e imaginativas a algunos de estos retos. A modo de ejemplo, UNED ha sido la primera universidad en el mundo que ha ofrecido certificación formal en el contexto de una iniciativa MOOC (concretamente UNEDCOMA)

This article analyses the main characteristics and some preliminary results of three MOOC initiatives that have been implemented recently in the Ibero-American region: UNEDCOMA and UNX. These projects fall under the current context of search for new teaching and learning models, facilitated by the vast potential of Information and Communication Technologies, which are directly linked to the current and future learning needs of our society. MOOCs promote a participative, collaborative and permanent learning, with contents adapted to the skills required for the 21st century, but substantial changes are required in all the links of the education chain, from the relationship between teachers and students and the means they use to teach/learn, to the assessment and accreditation formulas. All these issues have been covered in all the initiatives in this article, although there is still uncharted territory to explore. Some of these projects have become a landmark for having generated innovative and imaginative solutions to some of the challenges. As an example, the UNED has been the first university in the world to offer official certification in the context of a MOOC initiative (specifically UNEDCOMA)
