Percepciones y valoraciones de la utilización de los libros digitales en Educación Superior

Abstract

El libro digital comienza a representar una herramienta indispensable para la práctica docente no sólo como herramienta eficaz en la introducción de las TIC en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Entre otras ventajas, podemos afirmar que el libro digital interactivo permite a los estudiantes aprovechar las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación para mejorar su aprendizaje autónomo, fomentar su iniciativa e interés y agilizar la comunicación con el docente en un entorno tecnológico avanzado. En el marco de la tendencia creciente del m-learning, la presente investigación se propuso analizar la experiencia de la utilización de un libro electrónico, describir el potencial de estos dispositivos para la realización de actividades académicas y personales e identificar las condiciones requeridas para la incorporación de dicha herramienta en el aula en un contexto universitario. La educación superior viene experimentando cambios importantes con el objetivo de promover experiencias innovadoras en los procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje apoyándose en las TIC. En este sentido, los libros digitales suponen una nueva forma de acceder a la información y al conocimiento a través de una interfaz sencilla e interactiva de un gran atractivo para los estudiantes. Su integración en las aulas está generando un cambio en el proceso de enseñanza/aprendizaje exigiendo al alumnado la asunción de un mayor protagonismo y compromiso y al profesorado, un ajuste a los requerimientos que este nuevo contexto genera

The digital book begins to represent an indispensable tool for teaching practice not only as an effective tool in the introduction of ICT in the teaching-learning process. Among other advantages, we can say that interactive digital book allows students to take advantage of information and communications technology to improve their autonomous learning, encourage their initiative and interest and streamline communication with the teacher in an advanced technological environment. As part of the growing trend of m-learning, this research aimed to analyze the experience of using an electronic book, describe the potential of these devices to carry out academic and personal activities and identify conditions required for incorporation of the tool in the classroom in a university context. Higher education is undergoing major changes with the aim of promoting innovative experiences in teaching and learning processes using ICTs. In this sense, digital books represent a new way to access information and knowledge through a simple and interactive interface great appeal for students. Its integration in the classroom is generating a change in the teaching / learning by requiring students the assumption of a greater role and commitment and teachers, an adjustment to the requirements that this new context creates
