Abstract
The recorded associations of ammonites found in the Muschelkalk fades of Valdepeñas de Jaén (Ptychitidae, Proarcestes, Reitziites, Hungarites) and of Calasparra, Murcia (Eoprotrachyceras, Negebites, Israelites, GevanitesJ allow for the first biochronostratigraphic characterization of the Anisian-Ladinian boundary in the Subbetic Zone of the Betic Range
