Abstract
The aim of this study is to explore if the healthcare professionals show the characteristics of burnout syndrome in the context of the second wave of SARS-CoV-2 infections in Spain. The sample is made up of 94 health workers, aged between 23 to 64 years old, who work in the public and/or private health field. The Burnout Inventory (MBI) was administered. The results indicate a high level of emotional exhaustion in the sample (61’5%), especially in those health workers who perceive insufficient protection measures against COVID-19. In addition, more than 40% of the participants report a high degree of depersonalization, this being less in those professionals who perceive their own risk from being infected by this virus. Finally, 33% of the participants show a low level of work self-realization, especially those who work directly with people diagnosed with COVID-19.
