AB In this work we present a small Roman fortificationlocated in the municipality of Paterna delCampo (Huelva, Spain). The functionality of thiscastles in Hispania is discussed and the environmentis studied, especially the mining wealth of theregion and the communication roads, to concludethat it was part of a preconceived plan of control ofthe territory to promove the mining exploitation
