abstract = {A new discovery of in situ amber from the Lower Cretaceous series of the northern side of the "Páramo de la Lora" is reported. A detailed analysis of the outcrop section revealed facies attributed to transitional continental-marine enviroments (lagoon). Amber globules were found within siltstones beds on erosion surfaces.
