AB Los estudios sociológicos y demográficos realizados en las últimas décadas muestran que la institución familiar se caracteriza de forma cada vez más llamativa por la pluralidad de formas de convivencia. A lo largo del artículo se reflexiona sobre la posible incidencia de estos cambios en el papel de la familia como entorno de crianza y educación infantil, y se presentan evidencias que muestran cómo el adecuado funcionamiento de la familia como contexto de desarrollo psicológico no está en función de su estructura o composición en sí misma
AB Sociological and demographical studies in recent decades show that the family institution is characterized more and more remarkably by the plurality of ways of living together. The article reflects on the potential impact of these changes on the role of the family such as parenting environment or children education, and presents evidences that prove how the effective functioning of the family as a context of psychological development does not depend on its structure or composition in itself.
