AB The ages of the tufa terraces of the Dúrcal River, in the vicinity of Cónchar, were obtained through theamino acid racemization method, which define the begining of the fluvial incision and the successiveperiods of carbonate accumulation and destruction/incision. These processes are related with the evolutionof the nearby Padul peat bog, in which the deactivation of the alluvial fans that fed this mire was producedat 400 ka coinciding with the uppermost tufa level formation at Cónchar and, therefore, with the dynamicsof the Dúrcal river, which are probably linked to neotectonics
