AB En este estudio se analizaron las propiedades psicométricasde la versión española del Inventario deCinco Factores NEO de treinta items (NEO-FFI-30) enun total de 2096 adultos (61.55% mujeres) con edadescomprendidas entre los 18 y los 71 años. Se analizóla validación cruzada de la estructura factorialmediante un análisis factorial exploratorio de EjesPrincipales (PAF) y un Análisis Factorial Confirmatorio(AFC). El PAF reprodujo la estructura original del NEOFFI-30 y el AFC mostró un ajuste satisfactorio de losmodelos monofactoriales para las cinco dimensiones.Los resultados apoyan la hipótesis de que el conjuntoabreviado de 30 ítems del FFI puede utilizarse eficazmentepara evaluar el modelo de personalidad de cincofactores de forma fiable y válida, y con capacidadconvergente, diferencial y concurrente con respectoal malestar clínico y psicológico. La versión españoladel NEO-FFI-30-SF es un instrumento robusto paramedir las cinco dimensiones de la personalidad.
AB In this study, the psychometric properties of theSpanish form of the NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEOFFI-30) were analyzed on a total of 2096 adults (61.55%female) with age ranged from 18 to 71 years. The crossvalidationof the factorial structure was analyzed by anexploratory Principal Axis Factoring (PAF) and a ConfirmatoryFactor Analysis (CFA). PAF reproduced the originalstructure of NEO-FFI-30 and CFA showed a satisfactoryfit of single-factor models for the five dimensions.The results provided sufficient support for the hypothesisthat an abbreviated set of 30 FFI items can be usedefficiently to assess the five-factor personality modelin a reliably and valid manner. The analyses showed astructure congruent with previous international adaptationsof the NEO-FFI-30, with high values of internalconsistency, and convergent, differential and concurrentability with respect to clinical and psychologicaldistress. The NEO-FFI-30-SF is a robust instrument tomeasure the five dimensions of personality.
