AB El nuevo panorama geoestratégico que surgió tras el fin de la guerra fría condujo amuchos países europeos a suspender el servicio militar obligatorio. Sin embargo, en los últimos añosse ha producido un profundo debate a través del cual se ha iniciado la reanudación del mismo porparte de algunos gobiernos. Entre las causas se encuentra la amenaza rusa, los atentados terroristas,la llegada de Donald Trump a la presidencia de EEUU, el déficit de reservistas, la falta de identidadnacional, que en mayor o menor medida tendrían una repercusión en España
AB The new geostrategic outlook that emerged following the end of the cold war ledmany European countries to terminate the legal requirement for their citizens to complete a periodof military service. Notwithstanding this change, in recent years there has been a serious debate overthis issue, leading to the reintroduction of military service by some governments. Justifications citedfor this policy change include the threat from Russia, terrorist attacks, the arrival of Donald Trumpas President of the United States of America, the lack of professional soldiers and the lack of anational identity, all of which, to a greater or lesser degree have repercussions for Spain
