RT Journal Article T1 Anomalías en REE como indicador de contaminación por vertidos de fosfoyesos en el estuario de los ríos Tinto y Odiel (SO de España) T1 REE anomalies as indicator of phosphogypsum wastes pollution in the Tinto and Odiel river estuary (SW Spain) A1 López González, Nieves A1 Borrego Flores, José A1 Carro Flores, Berta A1 Lozano Soria, O. AB In two cores in the Odiel and Tinto river estuary, Sc, Y, Th and Cu concentrations show a significantincrease in the intermediate levels, between 10 and 40 cm depth. Vertical evolution patterns for Sc, Y, Cuand heavy rare earth (HREE) are similar, and contrary to those shown by Th, light REE (LREE) and middleREE (MREE). Samples of the intermediate levels of the cores show significant enrichment of REE relative toNorth American Shale Composite (NASC) and high values in the (La/Gd)NASC and (La/Yb)NASC ratios. Theseanomalies in the fractionation patterns caused by enrichments in LREE and MREE concentrations are relatedto the presence of high concentrations of Th. They were generated by effluents from fertilizer factoriesbetween 1968 and 1998 which used phosphorite as source material PB Sociedad Geológica de España YR 2004 FD 2004 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8816 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8816 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 15 jun 2026
