AB From data obtained in different wells of the Martil-Alila aquifer, the principal physicochemicalcharacteristics of groundwater are studied. The origin of ions has a direct relationship with the dissolution of the aquifer materials. Possible mineralisation, urban and agricultural pollution have been detected.Temperature and chemical composition of waters show a thermal anomaly, directly related with the >:	tectonic activity in the northwestern area
