RT Journal Article T1 Strategies for the Promotion of Regenerative Tourism: Hospitality Communities as Niches for Tourism Innovation A1 Miedes Ugarte, Blanca A1 Flores Ruiz, David K1 Turismo AB Regenerative tourism has emerged as a critical evolution from traditional approachesto sustainable tourism, which have proven insufficient to address contemporaryenvironmental, social, and economic challenges. This study examines the case of ‘Aves dela Sierra’ in Huelva, Spain, a pioneering initiative that integrates ecosystem regenerationand community revitalisation as the core of its regenerative tourism proposal. Throughthe analytical theoretical framework of the Multi-Level Change Perspective (MLP) andtransformative innovation, it analyses how local communities consolidate themselves asniches of innovation in regenerative tourism, autonomously managing their resourcesand narrative. The results of this action research process reveal a number of findings thatcan serve as a starting point for the dynamisation and development of other regenerativetourism experiences. These include the need for public policies aimed at strengtheningthese innovation niches through collaborative networks, organisational learning, and adequatefunding. This article also contributes to narrowing the gap between theory andexperience in regenerative tourism.
