AB Se plantea una evolución protohistórica del puerto atlántico de Huelva coherente con el registro arqueológicode los últimos años. Para establecer su relación con otras zonas del Suroeste peninsular se revisan antiguashipótesis y líneas de trabajo ampliamente conocidas por la investigación y, finalmente, se comparanhallazgos occidentales con la evolución histórica del Próximo Oriente en general, para estimar que las relacionesoriente-occidente se produjeron en tres fases principales sucesivas y de larga duración desde el sigloXIVa.C. hasta las primeras importaciones fenicias en el Puerto de Huelva en el siglo IX a.C.
AB Having in mind previous and ultimate archaeological finds obtained in Huelva a protohistorial evolucition ofthe atlantic port is explained. To establish the possible connections with other areas from the South West ofthe Iberian Peninsula former hypohtesis and currently lines of research are revised. Finely confronting historicalevolution of levantine merchants in the East, their connection with the Iberían Peninsula through threessucesive but long term fases as from the 14thcentury to the firts arrival of phoenicians in the 9th century atHuelva are hereby explicated.
