A1 Comas Nebot, M. A1 Salas, Ramón AB A Lower Cretaceous (Upper Aptian) succesion of carbonate rocks in the southwestern Maestrat Basin(Iberian Chain) was analysed according to sedimentological and palaeontological criteria. The shallowmarine sequence was deposited upon a homoclinal carbonate ramp. Six main facies types were distinguishedand grouped into facies belts allowing the elaboration of a conceptual depositional model. The innerramp is represented by rudist floatstones forming a non-restricted lagoon and bioclastic and peloidalgrainstones forming shoals affected by wave base. The middle ramp consists of platestones and domestonesof corals that developed in moderate energetic environments, occasionally affected by storms. The outerramp is characterized by coral sheetstones growth fabrics, wackestones of orbitolines and spiculites indicatingdeep and poorly light environments probably with nutrient-rich waters YR 2006 FD 2006 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8495 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8495 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
