AB Este trabajo analiza el papel de la prensa en la legitimación del sistema social y político en Huelva durante la Restauración, en sintonía con el resto del país. Dada la amplitud del tema, se seleccionan dos ejes con marcado carácter sociopolítico: el movimiento obrero y los aspectos relacionados con el reclutamiento y los vaivenes de la guerra de Marruecos. Aunque la rutina militar era similar en todas las provincias, la lucha obrera tenía características propias por la importancia económica de la cuenca minera onubense, convirtiéndose en un asunto político de alto nivel cuando las reivindicaciones de los trabajadores o conflictos internacionales afectaban la producción. Se destaca la relevancia de las fuentes periodísticas, ya que no solo registran hechos, sino que transmiten un trasfondo interpretativo e ideológico que influye en la percepción de los lectores. El estudio se centra en los dos periódicos más representativos de la provincia, reflejando la crisis y descomposición del sistema restauracionista.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AB This work analyzes the role of the press in legitimizing the social and political system in Huelva during the Restoration, in line with the rest of the country. Given the breadth of the topic, two key aspects with a strong sociopolitical character are selected: the labor movement and issues related to recruitment and the fluctuations of the Morocco War. While military routines were similar across provinces, the labor struggle had distinctive features due to the economic importance of the Huelva mining basin, becoming a high-level political issue when workers’ demands or international conflicts affected production. The relevance of journalistic sources is emphasized, as they not only report events but also convey an interpretive and ideological background that shapes readers’ perceptions. The study focuses on the two most representative newspapers in the province, reflecting the crisis and disintegration of the Restoration system.
