RT Journal Article T1 Depósitos de tormenta en una rampa carbonatada: implicaciones sobre el origen del fango carbonatado acumulado en su zona distal (Kimmeridgiense, Cuenca Ibérica) T1 Storm deposits in a carbonate ramp: implications in the origin of the carbonate mud accumulated in distal ramp (Kimmendgian, Iberian basin) A1 Bádenas, Beatriz AB Facies distribution and sedimentary procceses in a storm dominated carbonate ramp (Kimmeridgian, northern Iberian basin) is studied in detail. Shallow ramp areas are dominated by coral reef facies. They grade basinsward into muddy facies, that have different storm deposits (storm lobes and bars, proximal tempestites and distal tempestites). The analysis of the relationship between these deposits along to the study of the composition of the carbonate grains, al/ow us to conclude that most of the coarse grain were produced in the reefal dominated areas. Downslope sediment transport was due to storm induced density currents. A significant part of the mud accumulated Offshore may be also resedimented in origin. Downslope transport in the studied ramp was favoured by its windward orientation PB Sociedad Geológica de España YR 1997 FD 1997 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/10230 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/10230 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 30 may 2026
