M. A1 Gutiérrez Mas, José Manuel A1 Achab, M. A1 Luna del Barco, A. A1 Jódar Tenor, J. M. AB Different bedforms fields in external areas of Cadiz bay have been identified in order to establish the flow regime, based on the analysis of side scan sonar recordings. The distribution of facies and bedforms are conditioned by the hydrodynamic system, but on sea bed coexists relict forms beside present day forms. In the western sector, several fields of bedforms appear: dunes, plane bed, sand and mud patches, mainly formed by effect of ebb current. These bedform fields represent different levels of flow regime: a) Low flow regime, represented by low plane bed; b) Middle flow regimen, represented by 2D dunes, sand ribbons and sedimentary interleaving that show current speed from 50 to 150 cm/s; c) Upper flow regime, represented by 2D dune and great 3D dunes, that show current speed from 100 to 7 50 cm/s, origined by tidal ebb currents; d) Very upper flow regime, represented by upper plane bed, that show current speed of 150 cm/s PB Sociedad Geológica de España YR 1999 FD 1999 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/9932 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/9932 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 30 may 2026
