RT Journal Article T1 Coulomb breakup in a transformed harmonic oscillator basis A1 Moro, A. M. A1 Pérez Bernal, Francisco A1 Arias Carrasco, José Miguel A1 Gómez Camacho, Joaquín AB The problem of Coulomb breakup in the scattering of a two-body loosely bound projectile by a heavy target isaddressed. A basis of transformed harmonic oscillator (THO) wave functions is used to discretize the projectilecontinuum and to diagonalize the Hamiltonian of the two-body system. Results for the reaction 8B+58Ni atsub-Coulomb energies are presented. Comparison of different observables with those obtained with the standardcontinuum discretized coupled-channels (CDCC) method shows good agreement between both approaches.
