García Ramírez, profundo conocedor de la obra beccariana,escribe acerca de cómo el pensamiento del célebre penalista italiano “se abrió camino” en el nacimientode las repúblicas americanas con sus esbozos constitucionales y declaraciones de independencia basadasen las exigencias de justicia, legalidad, igualdad y humanidad.
AB In this paper Ph.D. Sergio García Ramírez addresses the different ways in which the thinkingand work of Cesare Beccaria had influence on the political and legal evolution that took place in “ourAmerica”, as the famous essay of José Martí used to say. García Ramírez, well-versed in Beccaria’s work,writes about how the thinking of the celebrated Italian criminal lawyer “made its way” in the early Americanrepublics with their constitutional first drafts and declaration of independence based on the demandsof justice, legality, equality and humanity.
