AB El objetivo del trabajo es determinar las características asociadas alos trabajadores urbanos y rurales con la informalidad. Esta investigacióncuantitativa y correlacional se desarrolló a partir de la encuesta ENEMDU deEcuador, de formal longitudinal desde septiembre de 2014 hasta septiembre de2019, donde se realizaron modelos Heckprobit y Kaplan-Meier. Los resultadosindican que las probabilidades de ingresar al sector informal son superioresen el área rural que en la urbana, por características socioeconómicas. Sinembargo, la probabilidad de permanencia en el sector informal es superior enel área urbana que en la rural
AB The objective of the work is to determine the characteristics associated tourban and rural workers with informality. This quantitative and correlationalresearch was developed from the ENEMDU survey of Ecuador, of longitudinalform from September 2014 to September 2019, where Heckprobit and KaplanMeier models were carried out. The results indicate that the probabilities ofentering the informal sector are higher in rural areas than in urban areas, dueto socioeconomic characteristics. However, the probability of remaining in theinformal sector is higher in urban areas than in rural areas
