AB Vivimos momentos difíciles en nuestro sistema educativo. La violencia en las aulas y elfracaso escolar de un gran número de chicos y chicas, nos obliga a plantearnos la necesidadde una educación en valores. Los medios de comunicación de masas y las nuevastecnologías de la información y la comunicación juegan un papel fundamental en laconformación de la ética ciudadana. La televisión, el cine e Internet participan en laactualidad de una manera decisiva en la formación de la identidad cultural de los niñosy jóvenes en edad escolar. Una pedagogía de las imágenes y mensajes que se emiten ycomparten en estos medios, es fundamental para desarrollar la capacidad crítica delalumnado, despertar su conciencia social y propiciar su formación cultural
AB The Spanish educative system is currently going through difficult times. Violence inschools, combined with a high failure rate, outlines the necessity of an education invalues. On the one hand, mass media, together with the new information and communicationtechnologies, play a crucial part in the development of civic ethics. On theother hand, the role of television, cinema and the Internet is decisive for the shaping ofschoolchildren’s cultural identity. It is therefore primordial to conform the pedagogy ofboth the images and messages emitted on these media in order to enhance the pupils’critical abilities, their social conscience building, as well as their cultural training
