AB Florence Nightingale es una figura clave en la transformación de la sanidad, y especialmente de la enfermería, en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. Aunque no participó de manera directa en la gestión sanitaria de la Guerra Civil americana, las ideas que expuso en sus escritos posteriores a la guerra de Crimea fueron de interés para los protagonistas de la sanidad militar tanto de la Unión como de la Confederación. Estas páginas quieren servir de introducción a la primera traducción al castellano de las cartas de Nightingale dedicadas a la Guerra Civil americana, recogidas en sus obras completas (Collected Works of Florence Nightingale).
AB Florence Nightingale was a key figure in the transformation of healthcare, nursing in particular, in the second half of the 19th century. Although she did not participate directly in healthcare management during the American Civil War, the ideas she expressed in her writings after the Crimean War have been of interest to those protagonists for military healthcare in both the Union and Confederate armies. These pages would serve as an introduction to the first Spanish translation of Nightingale's letters on the American Civil War, collected in The Collected Works of Florence Nightingale.
