AB Los trabajos de investigación más recientes sobre las sucesiones delCarbonífero Superior del Área del Pisuerga han proporcionado unainterpretación coherente de la compleja geología de la región, resaltandolas relaciones entre tectónica y sedimentación. Estas investigaciones hanpermitido reconocer un conjunto de afloramientos de alta calidad, enparticular, en el sector oriental del Parque Natural de Fuentes Carrionas-Fuente Cobre. En este trabajo, se han seleccionado y documentado cuatro deestos afloramientos como puntos de interés geológico (geosites) con el finde promocionar el patrimonio geológico y la geodiversidad de la región. Enel futuro, el atractivo turístico y el interés pedagógico de estos afloramientosy paisajes podrán ser gestionados como un recurso económico para lascomunidades locales
AB The recent works about the Upper Carboniferous successions of thePisuerga Area have provided coherent interpretations on the complexgeology of the region, highlighting the relationships between tectonics andsedimentation. These works have allowed recognising a set of high-qualityoutcrops, particularly in the eastern sector of Fuentes Carrionas-Fuente CobreNatural Park. In this paper, four of those outcrops are selected anddocumented, and proposed as geosites in order to promote the geologicalheritage and geodiversity of this region. In the future, the touristic attractiveand the pedagogical interest of these outcrops and their related landscapescould be managed as an economic resource for the local communities
