RT Journal Article T1 Nueva evidencia sobre la edad del tránsito endorreico-exorreico de la cuenca de Guadix-Baza T1 New evidence about the age of the endorheic-exorheic transition of the Guadix-Baza basin A1 García Tortosa, F.J. A1 Sanz de Galdeano, Carlos A1 Alfaro García, Pedro A1 Jiménez Espinosa, Rosario A1 Jiménez Millán, Juan A1 Lorite Herrera, M. AB The Guadix-Baza basin was an endorheic continental basin during the Pliocene and part of the Pleistocene, later being captured by a tributary of the Guadaquivir River which would turn into the Guadiana MenorRiver. This event had significant implications in the evolution of the basin, leading to a stage in whicherosion dominated over sedimentation. However, there is no consensus about the time in which thefluvial capture took place and various authors have proposed different ages using diverse chronologicalcriteria. This work describes a different hypothesis about the age of the fluvial capture and also providesnew insights on the evolution of the basin. The presence of metamorphic clasts in the fluvial sedimentsthat comprise the upper terrace of the middle and upper course of the Guadalquivir River allowed us toestablish new criteria about the age of the mentioned fluvial capture process YR 2008 FD 2008 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8282 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8282 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
