RT Journal Article T1 La aplicación del concepto de especie biológica en Ammonites y su interés en Sistemática y Bioestratigrafía: la subfamilia Perisphinctinae Steinmann 1891 en el Oxfordiense Medio de la Provincia Submediterranea T1 The biospecies concept in ammonites and its bearing on the Systematics and biostratigraphy: The subfamily Perisphinctinare Steinmann 7597 from the Middle Oxfordian of Submediterranean Province A1 Bello Villalba, J. A1 Meléndez Hevia, Guillermo A1 Pérez Urresti, I. A1 Buil, B. A1 García Sanz, S. AB Despite the importance of Perisphinctidae ammonite family as a tool (or biogeographic correlation and biostratigraphy during the Oxfordian, these studies are frequently hampered by the intraspecific morphological and geographical variability, and the traditionally used tipologist species concept. A modern systematics, based on a biological species concept (biospecies) taking into account all types of intraspecific variability is likely to provide a more reliable phyllogenetic-biostratigraphic frame, leading as well to a better comprehension of the biogeographic dynamics of the group. The studied recorded successions in the Middle Oxfordian of Rida (NE Iberian Chain, Spain) known by their abundance and by the completeness of the ammonite record, supply a good evidence for the analysis of intraspecific variability and biospecies concept PB Sociedad Geológica de España YR 1996 FD 1996 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/11401 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/11401 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
