The analysis offered mainly focuseson the portrait of the main characters (Circe, Ulysses and the pig-men) and on the intertextualrelationships between the two texts. In this regard special attention is given to the incorporationof the lines of the Homeric poem, often literally translated, into the dramatic text. Moreover, theresources used by the author to update the Homeric episode and give it a new meaning, in linewith her ideas and the message she wants to convey, are also pointed out.
