AB Lucano refiere en la Farsalia (V, 505-607) el intento fallido de Julio Cesar de cruzar el Adriático conla ayuda del barquero Amiclas. El episodio está dividido en dos partes protagonizadas una por Amiclasy otra por César. La primera se convierte en un elogio de la vida sencilla, que contrasta con eldesasosiego en el que viven los poderosos. La segunda consiste en una afirmación de César frente alas adversidades. Estas páginas hacen un recorrido por la trayectoria de este motivo a través de laliteratura española de los siglos XV, XVI y XVII
AB Lucan refers in the Pharsalia (V, 505-607) Julius Caesar’s failed attempt to cross the Adriatic withthe help of the boatman Amyclas. The episode is divided into two parts, one featuring Amyclas andthe other Caesar. The first becomes a praise of the humble and quiet life, which contrasts with theunrest in which powerful people live. The second features Caesar’s affirmation in the face of adversity.These pages trace the trajectory of this motif through the Spanish Literature of the fifteenth,sixteenth, and seventeenth centuries
