An example of a Mesozoic normal fault with in the Maestrat basin is studied. This, fault dips to the South and bound two sub-basins; the Aliaga sub-basin, on the uplifted fault foot-wall, contains 320 m of syn-rift Kimmeridgian to middle Albian rocks, whereas the Calve sub-basin, on the downfallen hangingwall, contains up to 2290 m of syn-rift rocks. The Calve sub-basin was inverted during the Tertiary, thrusting on the Aliaga sub-basin by means of the inversion of the normal fault, which became a reverse fault, and by a newly formed thrust in the foot- wall of it; a fault-propagation fold formed at the tip of the latter PB Sociedad Geológica de España YR 1996 FD 1996 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/13290 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/13290 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
