T1 Los Eucaliptos en las tierras altas de Angola, su papel social durante el conflicto armado y en el desarrollo de las comunidades rurales y urbanas

AB Las tierras altas de Angola han tenido uncomplicado desarrollo histórico desde que fueroncolonizadas a inicios del siglo XX. Este procesohistórico también ha afectado a los bosques naturalesy las plantaciones de eucaliptos que se crearondurante los años 60 y 70. El uso de estasplantaciones, inicialmente planificadas comosuministro de combustible y materias primas para laindustria colonial, se vio truncado con laindependencia y los posteriores avatares políticomilitares.En la nueva situación de inseguridad en elmedio rural, se convirtieron en la principal fuente decombustible para la creciente población urbana quehuía del campo. Actualmente, los polígonosforestales sobrevivientes pueden ser utilizados en larehabilitación de esta zona del país.El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación esconocer el proceso histórico de uso y gestión deestas plantaciones su papel social en este proceso yla situación en la que se encuentran actualmente._________________________________The Angolan highlands were involved in acomplicated historical process since the beginning ofcolonization in the early 1900´s. The process alsoaffected the natural forest and eucalyptus plantationsthat were implanted in the sixties and seventies. Itsprimary planning uses were for fuel wood andtimber supply to the colonial industries. The forestuses changed with the independence and the laterwar conflicts. The insecurity in the rural areascaused a strong rural peasant migration to the moresecure cities. Forest plantation close to cities becamethe main fuel wood supply for the growing urbanpopulation. Currently, some forest plantationsremain in the less accessible areas and can be use forthe rehabilitation of the region.The main objective of the research was to increasethe knowledge concern the eucalyptus forests usesand management during the historical process, itssocial importance during the war time and the stateof the forests in present days.
