RT Journal Article T1 Primeros restos de vertebrados del Cretácico superior de Quecedo de Valdivielso (Burgos) T1 First vertebrate remains from the Upper Cretaceous of Quecedo de Valdivielso (Burgos) A1 Murelaga, Xabier A1 García Garmilla, Francisco A1 Pereda Suberbiola, Xabier AB Chelonian plates, fish scales and crocodilian remains from the uppermost Cretaceous of the Burgos Provinceare described for the first time. All the remains have been found in the argilites of the Sobrepeña Formation(Middle-to-Upper Maastrichtian). The fossil bones have been found dispersed all around the outcrop. Thebothremydid turtle plates are well preserved and represent the most abundant elements. The solemyidturtle plates are eroded and only a few fragments have been discovered. The bony fishes are representedby one scale that could be referred to the family Lepisosteidae. The crocodilian remains consist of anisolated tooth and an osteoderm. The fossil assemblage is in agreement with the sedimentologicalinterpretation of a lower energy lacustrine system. The bothremydid and solemyidid turtles, bony fishesand crocodrilians are common components of the continental vertebrate faunas of the Ibero-Armoricanrealm at the end of the Cretaceous PB Sociedad Geológica de España YR 2004 FD 2004 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8891 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8891 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
