T1 Morphostratigraphy and chronology of fluvial records during Late Pleistocene in Bardenas Reales of Navarra:palaeoenvironmental implications

AB Quaternary gravel deposits covering the bottom of the Bardena Blanca depression (Central EbroBasin, Navarra) have been studied. Three Late Pleistocene units (Qt1, Qt2 and Qt3) of gravel accumulationhave been differentiated using geomorphologic mapping, sedimentological analysis and optically stimulatedluminescence techniques. Chronological data show ages of 92, 52 and 15-21 ka respectively, which areclosely related to cold climate signals at regional scale. Aggradation in braided channel systems was mainlycontrolled by increases in runoff and sediment supply
