AB El propósito de este estudio es: (1) analizar laasociación entre masculinidad y feminidad consalud; (2) explorar si hay diferencias en masculinidady feminidad entre las personas de doscomunidades autónomas españolas. La muestraestaba formada por 533 personas de la poblacióngeneral. No se encontraron diferencias en masculinidadni en feminidad entre las personas deambas comunidades autónomas. Masculinidadse asociaba con autoestima en mujeres y hombres.En las mujeres, masculinidad se asociabacon mejor salud mental y feminidad se asociabacon autoestima. En la muestra de hombres, feminidadse asociaba con sintomatología de ansiedady somática y con autoconfianza
AB The purpose of this study is: (1) to analyze theassociation of masculinity and femininity withhealth; (2) to explore whether there were differencesin masculinity and femininity among thepeople of two different Spanish autonomouscommunities. The sample was comprised of 533individuals from the general population. No differenceswere found between masculinity andfemininity between the people from the twoautonomous communities. Masculinity was associatedwith self-esteem, both in the women’sand the men’s samples. In the women’s sample,masculinity was associated with mental healthand femininity was associated with self-esteem.In the men’s sample, femininity was associatedwith anxiety and somatic symptoms, and withself-confidence.
