RT Journal Article T1 Pulsos de inundación marina en la terminación de una plataforma carbonatada (Aptiense inferior de Aralar, Cuenca Vasco-Cantábrica) T1 Drowning pulses at the end of a carbonate platform episode (Lower Aptian of Aralar, Basque-Cantabrian Basin) A1 Millán, M. I. A1 Fernández Mendiola, Pedro Ángel A1 García Mondéjar, Joaquín AB The Lower Aptian Sarastarri Limestone unit (Aralar, nor thern Spain), mainly consists of rudist and coralmicrites and is nearly 200m thick. The uppermost 30m of the unit show sharp-based marly intervalsattributed to two drowning events. Both marly intervals are immediately preceeded by laminated bioclasticrudstone facies, attributed to quick shoaling processes ending with subaerial exposure. A change of localsubsidence conditions from uniform during the Sarastarri Limestone episode, to varying with distanceduring the Lareo Marl succeeding episode, is invoked to explain both drownings. Influence of oceanographiccauses reported in other contemporaneous carbonate platforms is, however, not excluded YR 2006 FD 2006 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8523 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8523 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
