RT Journal Article T1 Excited-State Pathways of Four-Coordinate N,C-Chelate Organoboron Dyes A1 Boscá Mayans, Francisco A1 Cuquerella Alabort, Maria Consuelo A1 Fernandes Pais, Vania Cristina A1 Ros Lao, Abel A1 Pischel, Uwe AB The excited-state behavior of four-coordinate N,C-chelate organoborondyes, based on arylisoquinoline ligands with varyingdegree of charge-transfer character, was characterized. Datarelated to excited triplet state formation, oxygen quenching, and singlet-oxygen formation were obtained. The results jointlyrationalize the previously observed high photostability ofthe dyes in air-equilibrated media. Furthermore, femtosecondtransient absorption experiments enabled the spectroscopicvisualization of the excited intramolecular charge transfer (ICT)state that gives rise to the fluorescence of the dyes.
