T1 Las heroínas de novela griega al servicio de Ártemis

AB Es bien sabido que la novela griega fue objeto de interpretaciones religiosas desdeprincipios del siglo veinte. Estudiosos de la talla de Merkelbach y Kerényi han intentadodemostrar que las novelas griegas han de ser leídas como textos iniciáticos representativosde cultos como el de Isis, Helios o Eros. Dichas interpretaciones no se sostienen hoydía, si bien se sigue reconociendo el importante peso de la religión en el género. En estesentido, esta comunicación pretende determinar el significado que tiene el hecho de queen dos de las novelas conservadas la protagonista principal sea una sacerdotisa de ladiosa Artemis, así como la función narratólogica que dicha circunstancia tiene en lasnovelas.____________________________________Greek Romance has been interpretated from a religious point of view from thebeginning of the XX Century. Scholars such as Merkelbach or Kerényi have tried to showthat Greek romances must be read as iniciatic texts of Isis, Helios or Eros worship.Nowadays, such interpretations cannot be held, although the importance of religion inthe genre is still recognised. In this sense, this paper tries to determine the meaning ofthe fact that the two main protagonists in two of the preserved romances are priestessesof the goddess Artemis, as well as the narratological function of that circumstance in theromances.
