AB One of the most curious manuscripts ofthe De uiris illustribus is Bibliotecadei Girolamini, XL pil. VI, no. XIII.This manuscript has been thoughteither to go back to the early Veronesehumanist Giovanni de Matociis, or tocontain authentic ancient information.We demonstrate that the manuscript hasnothing to do with Matoci, but is closelylinked to Giacomo Filippo Foresti, a latefifteenth-century historian. Its chief featureof interest is that it shares some readingswith another branch of the tradition ofthe DVI, the Corpus Aurelianum, thusproviding new evidence for the circulationof that text
AB Uno de los manuscritos del De uirisillustribus (DVI) más curiosos esNápoles, Biblioteca dei Girolamini, XLpil. VI, no. XIII. Entre los rasgos que se hanasociado a este manuscrito se encuentrandos: que se remonta al temprano humanistaveronés, Giovanni de Matociis, y quecontiene información antigua auténtica.Demostramos que el manuscrito no tienenada que ver con Matoci, sino que estáestrechamente ligado a Giacomo FilippoForesti, un historiador del fines del sigloXV. El principal interés de este manuscritoes que comparte algunas lecturas con otrarama de la tradición del DVI, el CorpusAurelianum, así proporcionando nuevaspruebas para la circulación de ese texto
