This unit is bounded by Miocene low-angle normal faults. The lithostratigraphic sequence of Adra unit includes, from bottom to top: dark schists with garnet, light coloured schists (Palaeozoic), phyllites (Permo-Triassic) and carbonated rocks (upper Triassic). North-vergent recumbent folds have been recognized within the unit. They affect the lithological boundaries, the metamorphic isogrades and the main foliation, this latter formed during a decompression, that is with an extensional character. These data suggest the alternance of contractional and extensional events during the tectonic evolution of the Alpujarride Complex}, publisher = {Sociedad Geológica de España}, title = {Evolución tectono-metamórfica de la unidad extensional de Adra (Complejo Alpujárride, Béticas centrales): Resultados preliminares}, title = {Tectonometamorphic evolution o f the Adra extensional u n it (Alpujárride Complex, central Betics): preliminary results}, author = {Azañón, José Miguel and Crespo Blanc, Ana and García Dueñas, V. and Sánchez Gómez, Mario}, }
