T1 Hombres divinos : de la dependencia religiosa a la autoridad política

AB En los últimos decenios un tema que ha suscitado el interés de los estudiosos es el de la figura del "hombre divino", tratando de elaborar una tipología de su figura y contrastándola con los hombres divinos de la tradición judeo-cristiana. Mi interés en este trabajo está centrado en analizar las características generales de los hombres divinos a partir del análisis concreto de la documentación literaria y, sobre todo, en indagar la función social, política e ideológica que estos personajes desempeñaban y de qué formas fue utilizada su imagen en el contexto cultural en el que se desarrollaron: el helenismo de los primeros siglos del Imperio. Estos personajes fueron demonizados, casos de Peregrino Proteo y Alejandro Abonoteico, o bien se ejerció sobre ellos un patronazgo oficial, o por último fueron utilizados para legitimar y prestigiar la monarquía, caso emblemático de la figura de Apolonio tal como la describe Filóstrato, y prototipo universal de theios aner, síntesis de mago y filósofo, con el que se contrastarán los demás "hombres divinos", y que sobrevivirá al cristianismo.____________________________In recent decades a subject which has aroused the interest of scholars is that of thefigure of the "holy man", and an attempt has been made to design a typology of his figureand compare it with that of the holy men of Jewish-Christian tradition. In this study myinterest focuses on analysising the general characteristics of holy men starting from thespecific analysis of literary documents and, above all, inquiring into the social, politicaland ideological function performed by these figures and into the ways in which theirimage was used in the cultural context in which they developed: the Hellenism of the firstcenturies of the Empire. These figures were either demonized, as was the case of PeregrineProteus and Alexander Abonoteicus, or officially patronized, or else used to givelegitimacy and prestige to the monarchy. This was the emblematic case of the figure ofApollonius as described by Philostratus and was the universal prototype of theios aner,the synthesis of magician and philosopher, with whom other "holy men" would becompared, and who would survive Christianity.
