AB In his works on Granada and the Alhambra,Washington Irving did not merelyfashion entertaining distortions of historicalfacts set in a remote and pleasinglycolourful geography. Instead, A Chronicleof the Conquest of Granada (1829) and TheAlhambra (1832) set in train a complex operationof production of Granada’s culturalgeography by combining different forms ofknowledge and representation.
