AB En el año 2018, la UNESCO inscribía los “Conocimientos y técnicas del arte de construir muros en piedra seca” en la ListaRepresentativa del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad. Se trató de una inscripción multinacional que presentaronocho Estados Partes, entre los que se incluye España con una candidatura apoyada por nueve Comunidades Autónomas.Partiendo de las indiscutibles características que identifican la técnica de la piedra seca como patrimonio cultural inmaterial, elobjetivo de este artículo se centra en el cuestionamiento de la finalidad de su patrimonialización. Basándonos en las premisasestablecidas en la Convención para la Salvaguarda de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial, planteamos hasta qué punto estereconocimiento mundial, ser patrimonio UNESCO, influye en que realmente la técnica de la piedra seca esté “salvaguardada”bajo las referidas premisas que estipula la Convención.
AB In 2018, UNESCO inscribed the “Art of dry stone walling, knowledge and techniques” on the Representative List of the IntangibleCultural Heritage of Humanity. This was a multi-national inscription submitted by eight States Parties, including Spain with anomination supported by nine Autonomous Communities. Based on the indisputable characteristics that identify the dry stonetechnique as intangible cultural heritage, the objective of this paper focuses on the questioning of the finality of their heritagization.Based on the premises established in the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, propose to whatextent this world recognition, being UNESCO heritage, influences the fact that the dry stone technique is actually “safeguarded”under the referred premises stipulated in the Convention.
