RT Journal Article T1 An Analysis of Methodological Aspects in the Practice of Nautical Activities in Educational Centers A1 Medina Rebollo, Daniel A1 Sáenz-López Buñuel, Pedro A1 Bento, Pedro A1 Fernández Gavira, Jesús A1 Fernández Ozcorta, Eduardo José AB Currently, physical and sports activities in natural environments are viewed as valuableresources for combatting sedentary lifestyles, with water sports and related activities offering significanteducational potential. However, these activities are not fully integrated into physical educationprograms, largely due to a lack of training in methodological approaches. This qualitative studyinterviewed ten stakeholders (including instructors, managers, and teachers from three countries)to analyze key methodological aspects necessary for effective implementation. The results revealedthree main findings: (1) direct instruction emerged as the primary teaching approach, incorporatingdemonstrations and level-appropriate activities; (2) optimal learning occurs in small groups of8–12 students per instructor; and (3) technical skill development should focus on sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. This study identified weather conditions as a key challenge, necessitatingflexible planning. Based on these findings, this study provides practical guidelines for implementingwater sports in educational settings, emphasizing the importance of structured teaching approaches, appropriate group sizing, and environmental considerations.
